Bully box gets the word out

ANONYMOUS “bully boxes” are being installed in schools as part of the fight to combat schoolyard bullying.

The electronic boxes let victims and witnesses email reports of bullying anonymously to their schools.

Federal statistics say bullying affects one in six students on a weekly basis.

An anti-bullying phone app, designed in Queensland, is the first of its kind to be rolled out nationally and has been backed by federal and state governments.

Bully boxes have already been set up at Kingston State College and Bundaberg State High School.
